Thailand’s national carrier, Thai Airways International (THAI) won two awards, being recognised as the Best South-East Asian Airline in the Airline Awards category. In addition, THAI was crowned the Best Airline – Business Class in the BT-MICE Awards category, which also recognised the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau as the Best Convention and Exhibition Bureau, and the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok as the Best Business Hotel.
In the Hotels – Individual Property category, Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok was crowned the Best City Hotel – Bangkok while in the Travel Agency category, Asian Trails was named the Best Travel Agency Thailand. The long-time pride of Thailand, the Royal Cliff Hotels Group – the State of Exclusivity and Fascination presented the country prominently in the Hall of Fame.
Amid strong competition, two of Thailand’s tourism organisations have made their way into the TTG Travel Awards as first-time winners. Centara Grand Beach Resort and Villas Hua Hin was named the Best Beach Resort in the Resorts – Individual Property category. Bringing another pride to Thailand is the Centara Hotels and Resorts, which was named the Sustainable Travel Company of the Year, a new honour in the Outstanding Achievement Awards category.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) joined the Asia-Pacific’s travel industry in congratulating all 82 winners at the 25th TTG Travel Awards 2014 Ceremony and Gala Dinner on 2 October, 2014, at the Centara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld in Bangkok.
Mr. Sugree Sithivanich, Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications of the TAT, presided over the Award’s ceremony and handed out awards to winners of the Travel Agency Awards, Travel Services Awards, BT-Mice Awards and Airline Awards, alongside TTG Asia Media’s Managing Director, Mr. Darren Ng.
“I’d like to congratulate all 82 winners of the TTG Travel Awards 2014 with heartiest congratulations to all eight Thai tourism entities who won nine prestigious honours for Thailand. All these awards are testimony to the hard work and dedication to stand out from the crowd amid strong competition. TAT will continue to encourage Thai tourism entities to strive for higher standards, so that Thailand can continue to be at the forefront as one of the world’s top tourist destinations,” Mr. Sugree said.
