POP-UP HOLIDAY PARK SET TO RETURN TO SYDNEY CBD
A pop-up holiday park will appear in Wynyard Park in Sydney's Central Business District on 18 and 19 March to promote caravan and camping holidays across Regional NSW. The holiday park will give visitors the opportunity to inspect the latest caravan and camping products and experiences in a distinctly urban setting.
The initiative is part of a joint campaign between the NSW Government's tourism and major events agency Destination NSW, and Caravan and Camping Industry Association NSW (CCIA), aimed at promoting caravan and camping holidays as one of the best ways to experience Regional NSW.
The pop-up holiday park will also give people a taste of what's on display at the NSW Caravan, Camping and Holiday Supershow which will run from 11 until 19 April at Rosehill Racecourse, which attracts over 80,000 people across the nine days of operation.
Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said the pop-up holiday park was designed to encourage travel to Regional NSW and help generate increased awareness in caravan and camping holiday options across the State.
"We are proud to be partnering once again with CCIA NSW to bring an exciting outdoor experience to Sydney's CBD, giving Sydneysiders the chance to discover the wide variety of caravan and camping holiday options to suit varying styles and budgets," Ms Chipchase said.
"The initiative provides a unique platform to leverage our NSW short breaks campaign and promote caravan and camping as NSW's favourite way to holiday. Whether you're after waterfront views, bush surrounds or all the creature comforts of a luxury cabin,
NSW is home to over 900 Holiday Parks which have something for everyone," she said.
CCIA NSW Chief Executive Officer Lyndel Gray said this was the second year the organisation has worked with Destination NSW to create a pop up caravan park in the CBD.
"We want to showcase the best of what the caravan and camping industry offers and demonstrate the amazing experiences and products available here in NSW," Ms Gray said.
"The caravan and camping industry is continually innovating and we now have motorhomes and caravans with all the latest facilities you'd expect, tents that pop open with the flick of a wrist and all the new accessories that make camping life more convenient and comfortable than ever.
"NSW holiday parks have fantastic facilities as well – from luxury cabins, onsite tents, camp sites, plus all the makings of a great holiday like swimming pools, cafe's, playgrounds and access to some of the best natural landscapes in the world. Many parks across NSW are dog friendly too," she said.
The pop-up holiday park will open from 7am until 6pm at Wynyard Park from 18 to 19 March. For more information on caravan and camping destinations and products, helpful hints and tips to plan a holiday in NSW, go to visitnsw.com and caravan-camping.com.au
